Reading is the most important skill you can teach a child; of all the skills children learn, it is the one you can influence the most! Please consider donating a book for your child’s classroom library. Cary Elementary teachers are working hard to build their libraries to support reading in the classroom. The main instructional goal is to support growth in reading for all students in grades K-5. One of the strategies for accomplishing this goal is to teach our children how to choose a book that will keep them engaged and increase their level of reading. Having a classroom library with a variety of books will allow our students the opportunity to reach their goals of becoming stronger readers. As a parent you can help us by choosing a great book to donate to your child’s classroom.
Look for the giving tree in the front hallway near the Bookstop for great suggestions of books. Please send all book donations to Mrs. Cavaco in the media center with your child’s name and teacher attached—she will make sure they have nice bookplates and are delivered to your teacher.
New or gently used books will be accepted.
