Scholastic Summer Challenge 2013

Finallogo4-C.largeJoin the Scholastic Summer Challenge, a free, interactive reading program dedicated to helping kids keep their reading skills sharp throughout the summer by reading every day! The Scholastic Summer Challenge creates a great way to keep kids reading over the summer while giving parents the tools they need to motivate their children.

STUDENTS:

  • Choose what YOU want to read, then read as many minutes as you can!
  • Log your minutes here every day and enter summer sweepstakes!
  • Beat weekly reading goals and take extra challenges for summer rewards!

PARENTS:

The Scholastic Summer Challenge is a free reading program dedicated to stopping the “summer slide” and inspiring kids to read more books this summer. On the Summer Challenge site, kids can participate in weekly reading challenges, earn digital rewards, enter sweepstakes for a chance to win prizes, and help set a new world record in summer reading!

New this year: kids can track their reading minutes as they “Read for the World Record”. As kids log their minutes, they will be reading to 12 landmarks from around the world, such as the Taj Mahal, The Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, and Mount Rushmore! As the reading meter reaches each landmark, videos will be deployed that feature kid reporters sharing interesting facts about each location.
