Cary Elementary is one of five finalist schools for the Moe’s and Poe’s $1,000 Garden Grant to help establish a new school garden. Work toward planning a Cary Elementary school garden was started last fall by PTA parent, Jeannette Selvaggi, and her committee members Carla Delcambre, Nancy Haywood, Suzanne Summers, and ex-officio members Kristine Harris and Rod Stanton. Planning the garden continued to move forward even though CES was not a finalist for the grant last fall. When you see one of these committee members, especially Mrs. Selvaggi who has spent many hours planning the garden and writing the grant applications, please congratulate them for their hard work.
This Moe’s and Poe’s Garden Grant would provide funds to make our CES student garden a reality, and provide a wonderful learning opportunity for our students. In order for CES to win the grant, we need to get all of our staff, parents, and friends to vote, vote, and vote again for CES! In order to vote, you must first become a fan of the Moe’s Triangle Facebook page. The link for voting is http://on.fb.me/1ehghdp, and will be accessible through the Moe’s Triangle Facebook page—you may vote once per day through April 30, 2014.
Thanks for helping us earn the funds to make this garden a reality!
