The Bookstop is in need of 2 or 3 volunteers for only one hour a week on Tuesday mornings from 8:00 – 9:00 AM (or every other week on Fridays from 8:00 – 9:00 AM). It’s easy, fun, and no experience is necessary!
New to CES or wondering what the Bookstop is? The Bookstop is a PTA-run used bookstore for the students! Students earn bookbucks (play money that is used to “buy” books) from their teachers for good behavior, etc. Students can also obtain bookbucks from donating used books from home. They can then spend their bookbucks on new books. The kids love it, and it teaches them about money and how to shop. They can also sell back the books when they are done with them and purchase new ones with their bookbucks. It’s a great way to clear out the 1st grade books from your 5th grader’s room and replace them with grade appropriate books.
If you have K-5 appropriate books you would like to donate (no baby books, please), send them to school with your child after the Bookstop opens or bring them into the school office with a note including the names of your child and his or her teacher, so we can provide them with their bookbucks.
The Bookstop plans to open on September 16, 2014, so a volunteer is needed ASAP.
Please contact Kirsten Vaughan if you are interested or have questions.
