Cary Elementary News 6-2-21

3rd-5th Grade EOG state testing information –Today we finished our End of Grade testing, aside from a few remaining make-ups.  3rd grade reading scores came back to us first, and were sent home to parents yesterday.

Next week we will receive 4th and 5th grade scores, which will also be sent home to parents.

Next week:

Monday, June 7 – PTA meeting 7:30

Thursday, June 10 – Last day of school

Moving?   Please contact Mrs. Strickland in the front office to let her know if you will not be attending Cary Elementary next year.  This helps us with our staffing and planning and also allows records to be sent to the new school when needed.

After School Care 21-22

Cary Elementary has run a very successful after school program for many years and we appreciate the families and staff members who have supported our program. Due to limited Cary Elementary staffing availability, we have decided to focus our efforts on the before school program and invite the YMCA to operate our after school program.  I’ve met with Dana Kennedy several times to discuss our needs for our students and families and feel the YMCA program is a good match. Please see below for an informational message from Mrs. Kennedy.

YMCA after school program hosted at Cary Elementary 21-22

We are pleased to provide after school care on-site at Cary Elementary starting with the 2021-2022 school year. At YMCA After School, kids expand their learning beyond the classroom. We use a balanced curriculum that supports learning through active play and a focus on character development and social emotional learning.

During the week, students will participate in a variety of enrichment activities with opportunities for skill development, physical activity and fun.

After School is held from school dismissal until 6 p.m.

Registration will be available online by July 1st. We do not cap enrollment, everyone who needs care will have a spot.
